Abstract
Driver negligence is one of the main factors causing accidents in traffic. In this case, preparing the vehicle before it is operated is an important thing to do, the cargo door is an important part of the vehicle that cannot escape the preparation. Therefore technology needs to be used to improve driving safety by reducing the possibility of negligence. This study aims to design and create a tool to provide information and warnings about the condition of the cargo door using Arduino. Research and Development is the right method in designing this tool. Collecting data for tools to be used and then designing according to needs using Proteus software and Arduino IDE for programming. Arduino microcontroller is the right choice, coupled with several important components. Ultrasonic sensor that functions to detect the condition of the door so that the driver can find out the position of the door in an open or closed state, using the help of a magnetic sensor the driver can also find out how the condition of the door lock lever is. This tool is realized in the form of a vehicle prototype that can work according to the program that has been created.
