Abstract

Motorized vehicles are a means of transportation on the highway that are often used in everyday life. In addition to having to fulfill its function as a transport medium, motorized vehicles must also receive special attention so as not to cause negative impacts both for road users and the surrounding environment that cause material losses and casualties. In this case, the researcher focuses directly on the LPG tank truck as a special means of transportation through the highway for distribution. Gas leaks in cylinders transported by LPG tank trucks have a risk of leakage that we cannot predict. With the development of technology that can be applied in the field of road safety. With the MQ-6 gas sensor as a gas detector and GSM and GPS modules as the sender of location coordinates in the event of a gas leak, which aims as an early detection in LPG tank trucks. The research method used is a type of research and development or Research and Development (R&D). Research and Development (R&D) research in this study is a method for producing and developing products that have been studied previously that are only applied at home. And the addition of several component modules such as LCD, GSM and GPS as information providers and the location of leaks. From this research, a prototype of an early detection tool for LPG gas leaks on LPG tank trucks was produced using the MQ-6 sensor. In the test results of the MQ-6 sensor, it shows that the farther the point of giving the gas, the longer the sensor will detect gas. on the SIM800L test results the average delay of delivery is 7.8 seconds. In the results of the GPS test the coordinates are obtained according to the coordinates of a gas leak. This means that the prototype runs according to the research design.
