Abstract

Public transportation plays an important role in overcoming congestion in big cities like Jakarta. PT Transportasi Jakarta, as a pioneer in providing efficient mass transportation services, relies on the maintenance and repair of its fleet to ensure optimal service. However, the Workshop facilities at the Cawang Depot are still inadequate, especially in terms of safety equipment such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), light fire extinguishers (APAR), and safety warning boards. This deficiency has a negative impact on the performance and safety of mechanics. This study aims to redesign the Layout of the maintenance and repair Workshop at the Cawang Depot of PT Transportasi Jakarta, with a focus on increasing operational efficiency and improving safety facilities. Using SketchUp Pro 2023 software, this redesign will optimize space utilization, improve workflow, and ensure compliance with safety standards. The new Layout is expected to reduce the time required for vehicle maintenance and repair, minimize accidents, and improve Workshop operational efficiency. The results of this study indicate that the redesign of the new Workshop Layout can create a more structured workflow, reduce vehicle maintenance time, and improve technician safety. This redesign is expected to be a reference for PT Transportasi Jakarta in developing better Workshop facilities in the future, so that the fleet can operate efficiently and continue to provide the best service to the community.
