Abstract
PT Hino Motors Manufacturing Indonesia applies Part Inspection Standard (PIS) to ensure the tire air pressure on the bus platform is 105-125 Psi. The inspection is done visually and by hammering by the Quality Control Vehicle (QCV), and then the Shipping Quality Audit (SQA) with a tire pressure gauge, which is recorded manually on the check sheet form. An Internet of Things (IoT) based tire air pressure detection device was developed for the RM8J Bus to improve the effectiveness of inspection and ensure production vehicles meet tire air pressure standards. The research uses the development method, or Research and Development (R&D), to produce innovations in detection tools. This tool uses a pressure transmitter sensor connected to ESP32 to detect air pressure in the tire. The output of the tool is in the form of an LCD as an information system that displays the sensor detection number in Psi units, LED and buzzer as a warning system if the detection results are not up to standard, and Google Spreadsheet as data storage and measurement identification history. Based on testing tool on RM8JSLU-QJJ Bus, it shows that each output component functions properly and can actively detect normal vehicle conditions (Good) or not according to standards (Not Good). To ensure the accuracy of the results, calibration is carried out with 30 parameters of tool pressure with a Tire Pressure Gauge, resulting in an accuracy of 99.44% and an error of 0.56%. This research can be concluded that the development of a tire air pressure detection device on the RM8J Bus based on the Internet of Things (IoT) has been successfully implemented with a good level of accuracy so that the performance of the tool is effective, feasible, and accurate for use on vehicles.
